About

I grew up in France and have spent the last decade and a half in Seattle, where the mountains, the coffee, and the rain suit a builder just fine.

My career has been a loop between building software and building the companies and teams around it. I spent years at Microsoft working on systems used by millions, then followed the pull of smaller, faster teams: joining startups, founding my own company, and advising other founders along the way.

Founder & advisor

Starting my own company taught me that taste, distribution, and timing matter as much as the code. These days I also advise early-stage founders, usually on the things that are easy to get wrong early and expensive to fix later: technical strategy, architecture, the first engineering hires, and how to scale a team without scaling the chaos. I care most about helping founders move fast and keep the option value to change their mind.

How I work

I believe the best engineering organizations are designed, not accidental. I care about clear interfaces between services and between people. I’d rather invest in the boring fundamentals (observability, tight feedback loops, humane on-call) than chase novelty. As a leader, my job is to set direction, remove obstacles, and make the people around me more capable than they were last quarter.

Outside the day job

I’m a co-owner of Outer Planet Brewing, where I was Taproom Manager from 2018 to 2025. Running a taproom turned out to be its own kind of startup (operations, people, and hospitality), and a good reminder that not everything worth building is software.
